First of all, an apology to anyone that’s been trying to contact the author of this blog about bob Ross courses in the UK. I set this site up in 2008, I no longer have anything to do with the running of these courses unfortunately, and have not had the time or resources to respond to the enquiries that have come through in many languages from all over the world – thank you all for your interest.

As a final note to any Bob Ross fans out there I thought I’d drop in a quick link to a site called Art Supplies IT. The site is an online shop selling Bob Ross art supplies in the UK. At the moment they’re only delivering to the UK, but with enough interest may expand further apparently. Payment using PayPal and most major credit or debit cards is accepted, all using the secure PayPal payments system. We’ve had some good feedback about the site, their prices are competitive, and all include mainland UK delivery.

I started exploring the world of Bob Ross on photo-sharing site Flickr a while back, and I thought I’d share an update with you all.

So far I’ve added just 2 pictures myself (pretty poor going I know), both of my favourite Bob Ross mug, they’ve had a paltry 2 views each, but we all have to start somewhere:

Bob Ross Paintings – I started by inviting a few people who I’d found with their own Bob Ross paintings, and there have now been over 200 photos submitted from the Flickr community, many from the 16 members of the group who have started to make it a living breathing Bob Ross space – a big thank you to you all for your time and enthusiasm, and most of all for sharing your paintings

Bob Ross Miscellany – I found other people with Bob Ross related pictures on Flickr from the mundane to the downright bizarre, so I’ve set up a space to invite contribution of a more light-hearted nature. We’ve got 5 members here and a great variety of pictures reflecting how Bob’s popularity still knows no boundaries. I’d never have known that Bob Ross is somewhat of a cult underground figure at US college fancy dress parties if it wasn’t for this group! 83 pictures and counting – once again, a massive thank you to all contributors.

I’m going to make a concerted effort to be a bit more proactive with both this blog and the Flickr groups from now on – any suggestions/feedback more than welcome – Happy Painting!

Bob Ross – Why I Don’t Paint People

The tribute song and accompanying tongue-in-cheek video was shot in New York in 2000 by David and Ron Barba. It was written and directed by Carin Perry and Ron Barba. It features ‘The Rossies’ dressed in afro wigs painting in the park and sound samples from ‘The Joy of Painting’ TV series.

At time of writing the video has amassed a staggering 546,201 views on YouTube over 1,400 people have left comments about the video including:

“Great way to tribute a man who touched a lot of people’s lives.”

“this is amazing, I’m a huge Bob Ross fan, and this tribute is great, the song, the video everything”

Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet technique – Landscape, Floral and Wildlife Teacher Training Seminars

Seminars – Level 3

After you’ve completed Levels 1 & 2, this is the final step to become an accredited Ross Instructor. You will complete advanced painting projects and practice and perfect demonstration skills with other class members. Guest speakers from Artraders and/or the Bob Ross Company will attend the seminar to discuss promotion, setting up classes, product sourcing and other valuable information.

On Friday afternoon you‘ll all enjoy closing , usually quite festive ceremonies which include receiving your final full accreditation CRI, CRFI, or CRWI certificate. You’ll now be ready to start your new life as a fully qualified Bob Ross instructor.

Seminars – Level 2

Open only to students who’ve completed Level 1, this is the next step to full CRI, CRFI, or CRWI status. You will work on advanced painting projects to further perfect your skills and receive special coaching about becoming an effective Bob Ross teacher. You will learn exciting techniques for conducting demonstrations, motivating beginners, correcting mistakes and projecting a positive image, all under the close guidance of Bob Ross International Staff.

Once again, on the Friday your progress will be acknowledged and reviewed
and your Level 2 Certificate issued.

Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet technique – Landscape, Floral and Wildlife Teacher Training Seminars

Seminars – Level 1

Provides the foundation needed to develop your Bob Ross technique painting skills. Emphasis is placed on proper use of painting tools and on the various methods involved to complete Bob’s landscape, floral or wildlife paintings. Projects are selected from Bob Ross instructional material, teaching is by an International instructor. We’ve been told that this is one of the most exciting five days that you’ll experience, many people making lifelong friends. On the Friday there is an appraisal of each students work (very friendly!) and the Level 1 Certificates are issued.
